Laine received an invitation today to a "reward" dance at her school, in recognition of maintaining a high GPA all semester. Like all of the other "rewards" this year, it's going to cost her real money to attend. (Or rather, me.) And, if she wants tacos and churros at this dance, she needs to pay an extra $2 for each.
Every semester, she gets rewards for good citizenship, good grades, completing her reading goal. And each time, the school makes her pay money to participate.
Does that sound like a reward to you?

No, its not a reward I think when you have to pay for it. But California is broke, the schools are broke I really dont see it being fixed either..But if the school is going to offer it as a reward they need to put the funds aside for the kids or look for an outside donation...my two cents anyway.. :)
