Water polo season has started up again. Kelly perpetually smells like chlorine and sunblock now, and there's always wet towels around. I like comparing her comments before and after practice.
Before practice: "I'm so tired. I don't really want to go, but I will." After practice: "I always feel so energized after practice, and even though it's hard, I really like it."
Before practice: "I really don't want to get all wet again!" After practice: "Being in the water and swimming feels so natural to me...it's like I was born to swim."
Get the idea? Like most things that are hard, it's tough to get motivated, but once in the thick of things and after it's done, it feels really, really good.
The boys are swimming again, like they do nearly every day. Joe was admonishing his brother to make sure he got sunblock "everywhere he doesn't want to look like a zombie." He's very concerned about skin cancer and is very conscientious about applying sun block. Going through a bottle a week is a good thing, right?
