Today I had an adventure in pain.
On my way to class this morning, I tripped over the curb as I was crossing the street. I couldn't regain my balance and fell right into the path of an oncoming car. If the driver hadn't been paying attention, I might have been run over. As it was, I landed very awkwardly on my hands and knees and the car stopped about four feet from me. I was very grateful that I hadn't been hit by the car...I know God was looking out for me!
I ripped my pants on the left knee. A quick inspection told me that I needed a bandage fast. At first, the only places I noted that hurt were my hands and knees. But after sitting for an hour in class, I realized that my right elbow had been tweaked and my neck and lower back were hurting, too. My right knee also hurt with any pressure that I put on it. I went to the campus clinic where they assured me that nothing was broken and they prescribed some pain medication and told me that Saturday might be worse, and to take it easy for a few days. Haha! Right...like I can do that.
I also had to take Kelly to the doctor today. Her seasonal allergies had gotten so bad that her asthma has been flaring up really badly for a few days. She was complaining of a variety of symptoms, and so I called the doctor and made an appointment. He looked in her ears where she apparently has raging ear infections and checked her chest and her breathing. He prescribed an antibiotic and told her to be better about taking her daily Qvar dosages.
With the rain this weekend, it's unlikely that I'll be able to get any yard work done, which discourages me beyond belief since it's a complete mess out there and I was planning on getting some of it done since I have the kids this weekend. We might go out anyway and see what we can do. A little rain never hurt anyone!
