Hello, Spring! I've been on zyrtec for over a month, now. I think it's beginning to lose its effectiveness, though, because the last several days in a row I have been waking up sneezing. I'm not talking about those wimpy, cute little girl sneezes. My sneezes are full-body, gale-force, I-hope-my-bladder-is-empty sneezes.
I'm allergic to pollen, dust, pet dander, soaps, shampoos, conditioners, grasses...you name it, I probably have an allergy to it. I don't get just hay-fever...I get hives with some of my allergies. I itch everywhere, but especially in my throat, nose, ears and on my back. Even though it's awful somedays, I'm really grateful to have zyrtec, though it's only effective right now for about half of the 24 hour period that it's supposed to work for. A few years ago, there were no antihistimines that I could take. Guess why? Because I'm also allergic to anti-histimines and decongestants.
