An Answer

Last Thursday and today were similar days in some respects. Laine missed school in the morning to go to the doctor's office for 3 hour tests. The first was lactose intolerance, and we determined on Thursday that Laine was not lactose intolerant. Today, we were testing for fructose intolerance (or fructose malabsorption). Last week, we got out at 12:00 because we had a negative result. Today, we got out at 11 because our result was POSITIVE. Her body has difficulty processing fructose, resulting in gas, diarrhea, nausea and stomach cramps. I have a lot to learn about how to modify our diet to make Laine more comfortable. This Thursday we visit the allergist to find out if there's an allergy component to her problems. Thanks everyone, for your prayers!
