Touching hearts

It was a mad rush to get to the podium to share testimonies today, which was heartening to see. So many people were eager to share their thoughts and their testimonies and it truly lifted my heart.

Two particular testimonies touched me today. Brother Boynton shared a moment in which he realized that his family is most important in this life. Seeing his love for his wife and his children gives me great hope. Also, Brother Musick shared that he had been praying for more charity in his heart toward others, and it really hit home with me. I have been praying similarly. To hear his story about meeting up with a homeless person and being granted a glimpse into her heart, seeing her as Christ saw her just touched me. I've been experiencing similar moments. His humility and kind spirit really moved something in me, and out of all of the testimonies that were shared today, his is the one I most remember.

Being in primary today was really nice. I got to hold some babies and smile and interact with some of our ward's sweet children. I love my calling! Not only is it a privilege to teach these young spirits, but I also feel loved because of their hugs and their eagerness to share their experiences with us each Sunday.

I'm so thankful to have my ward family. Today during the final hour, I was notified that my uncle (my Godfather from my youth) passed away at his home in Maine. He fell in the shower this afternoon and my aunt found him there after he had died. My dear cousins and my aunt had their world torn apart today. This and so many experiences this week have made me so grateful for my knowledge of the gospel.
